You can choose from two licensing opportunities should you decide to take advantage of the brand recognition earned by Custom House Coffee.
Use our name and logo to help sell coffee in your store.Wholesale customers can display our logo in their stores to sell brewed coffee and espresso. Coffee shops that agree to brew our coffee to our exact specifications can receive a license to display our logo.
You make the commitment to brew your coffee for the best flavor possible, and everyone wins. Your customers get the best coffee anywhere, you get more loyal customers and make more money, and we get further exposure for our brand.
Opening a store using the Custom House Coffee name.Custom House Coffee is seeking energetic entrepreneurs who wish to open a coffeehouse without having to reinvent the wheel. We prefer licensing to franchising because it is simpler and less restrictive, attracting people who are self-motivated and who do not want the rigid supervision of a franchise. A licensee has more control over his or her business, with the ability to adapt it ideally to the location and the demographics of its customer base. We don’t pretend to have all the answers for any given location and prefer to team up with smart, energetic people who know how to build and operate a successful business.
The advantages to the licensee are simple: The use of an established brand that represents the absolute best coffee in the region. Other advantages are the use of logos, artwork, operational systems, and other established business aids and procedures. There is no need to develop everything from scratch.
The licensee gets not only a big running start in launching the business, he or she also gets to say, “We roast our beans every day in our Middletown roastery.” This is a powerful statement that no other coffeehouse can make unless it roasts its own beans. It differentiates the Custom House Coffee licensee from all other coffee shops. Best of all, the licensee becomes part of a roasting operation without having to invest a considerable sum in roasting equipment.
The licensee also has the option of using the same suppliers as Custom House Coffee, benefitting from any economies of scale that are available. The licensee will also receive help in the design, planning, and build-out phases for the store. Custom House Coffee founder Bob Mastin is a former general contractor and an active real estate developer with extensive knowledge in commercial real estate, from site selection, to build-out, to negotiating commercial leases. He will be of considerable help to anyone planning a new store.
Finally, Custom House Coffee will help train the licensee’s staff and will assist getting the store open and operational. We will help staff the store the first day or two to help work out the kinks.
In return for these benefits the licensee must pay a one-time licensing fee and then buy all coffee beans from the Middletown facility at special wholesale rates. Monthly royalties are modest, and are totally devoted to marketing and advertising the Custom House Coffee brand. This should be considered a minimum advertising budget, and the licensee can of course invest in additional marketing. The only other requirement is that the licensee maintain minimum standards of cleanliness, decor, and customer service--standards any businessperson would strive to meet.
Our objective is to make it easy for the licensee to be successful. Your success is our success. Contact
